NORWAY -- Six new Hall of Fame inductees and vintage modifieds will be part of the action at Norway Speedway this Friday for the first-ever running of the Bob Iverson Memorial race.
The event, presented by DaVape Escape & Nine Lakes Sport and Marine, will honor the legendary Michigan motorsports icon who passed away last summer.
Bob's son, Jamie, will wheel Bob's No. 1 winged modified. All of the feature winners will get a trophy trackside presented by the Iverson family in victory lane.
In addition to more than a dozen vintage winged supermodifieds, six new members will be inducted into Norway Speedway's Hall of Fame for 2019, including former racers Mike Kangas of Menominee, Mike Kelly of Norway and Herb Iverson of Escanaba. Also being inducted will be longtime flagman Leroy Sovey, longtime track sponsor Bob Bush of Auto Value and former fairboard member and Henry Wender.
A full program is on tap, featuring Coca-Cola late models, Auto Value super stocks, 141 Auto stocks and MC Signs & Graphics stock fours.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. EDT and qualifying begins at 6:30. Racing gets underway at 8.
