KINGSFORD — The Escanaba Major Boys Little League All-Star team (age 11-12) dropped its District 10 tournament opener to Kingsford 10-0 in four innings here Sunday.

Kingsford scored five runs in the first and five more in the third.

Nolan Brink, Brian Bouittler and Camron Arnt each pitched for Esky, surrendering a combined seven hits. Bink, Bouittler and Cade Kroger each had a hit.

Iron Mountain North raced out to a 12-0 lead after the first inning to top Tri-County 16-4 in the nightcap of the doubleheader, which was also called after four innings.

Kingsford hosts Norway tonight at 4:45 p.m. EST, while Escanaba takes on Tri-County at 7:45 in the loser’s bracket game.
