PESHTIGO, Wis. — Escanaba baseball opened its weekend road trip to Wisconsin with a 6-1 loss Friday night at Peshtigo High.

Peshtigo plated six runs on 12 safeties with three players getting two hits each for the winners.

Austin Willette took the mound loss for the Eskymos pitching three innings, allowing six hits and four runs. Josh Bruntjens pitched the final three innings allowing two Peshtigo runs in relief. The Eskymos’ Jake LaFave, Bruntjens and Tyler Lawson each had one hit to lead the offense in the road loss.

Escanaba (13-5) continues play in the Badger State at Ashwaubenon today at noon.
