Minding our own business

The Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce provides an avenue for our businesspeople to play a leadership role in building a healthy, vibrant community. We are partners to every community, every business, and every citizen.

While there is never a bad time to join the Chamber, it is currently a great time to get onboard as we are preparing to print and distribute our Delta County Membership Directory as part of the 2026 Visit Escanaba Visitors Guide and Business Directory. This comprehensive guide is utilized by locals and visitors alike and provides a great overview of our waterfront community. Inclusion in the printed and online directory is available only to members in good standing. Being listed in the Chamber Directory is a valuable way for members to gain visibility. With 10,000 copies printed and distributed to people seeking information about the community and local services, it’s an opportunity no business will want to miss.

In addition to our printed directory, when a business joins the Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce, they become part of a county-wide network of businesses that represents and promotes our community’s economy, education system, tourism initiatives and governmental concerns. Our organization is a catalyst through which business and professional people work together for the common good of the community.

During the March meeting of the Delta Chamber Board of Directors, four businesses were presented for membership.

Eleven 10 Bistro is a modern creative eatery and bar where elevated comfort food meets a welcoming atmosphere. Located at 1110 Ludington Street in Escanaba, their menu blends classic flavors with thoughtful twists, featuring quality ingredients and locally sourced beef. As the Bistro grows, their kitchen plans to continue to explore new flavors, local products, seasonal ideas, and creative dishes. Find them on Facebook to stay up to date on delicious specials and menu updates.

Old State Development LLC is a locally-owned residential development company focused on building high-quality condominium communities in Escanaba. This venture is a collaboration of three seasoned professionals — Jim Baxter, Dave Harris, and Judy Owens, each of whom bring over 30 years of experience in the housing market. Their current project, Stonebrook Condominiums, features thoughtfully-designed, energy-efficient, single-level homes that support local housing needs and long-term community growth. For more information about available units and upcoming developments call 906-280-5650.

Whitefish on Wheels is a mobile food truck serving up classic, crispy fish fries made from fresh whitefish, perch, and shrimp. The meals are often paired with golden French fries, creamy coleslaw, and all the fixings–like ketchup and tartar sauce. The food trailer can be found at a variety of local events. Follow Whitefish on Wheels on Facebook, to find out where they will be next or even keep an eye out in our parking lot for randomly scheduled Pop-Up sales.

A rejoining member, Highland Golf Club was founded in 1930. It is one of Delta County’s oldest golf courses. Originally a nine-hole course for 38 years, it was expanded to 18 holes in 1968 and was Delta County’s first 18-hole course. The Highland Golf Club is open to the public, and has been known to carry the label, “the friendliest course around.” Their facility also offers banquet facilities and great dining opportunities. During the winter their restaurant is open on Fridays and Saturdays 3 to 8 p.m. and for breakfast on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Keep up to date on their various events and offerings by following Highland Golf Club on Facebook.
