Bark River celebration was appreciated
This week’s bouquets go to:
From Betty (Sundquist) Giovenco:
I would like to express my thanks to Matt and Kelly Hanson of Bark River for their amazing work in leading a wonderful celebration over the July 4th weekend. They and their committee worked long hours to put on a celebration that drew in the entire Bark River community and was a fun time for outsiders to gain appreciation for the early settlers and businesses in the area. Many businesses, farms, churches, and families took time to share their stories in the History Room and Sesquicentennial Book. Having both of my parents among the early residents made this an extra special time for me. Bringing back high school graduates along with great local entertainment made this a grand celebration. The full day of activities on Sunday began with a wonderful ecumenical service led by Father Pepin of the Catholic Church and Pastor Cowen of Salem Lutheran Church. The joining of all faiths to begin the day provided a strong sense of community.
Congratulations, Bark River, on a job well done.
