Calling on Bergman to investigate judge

This letter was sent to U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet:

Lawyers from the administration are accused of lying to judges in court. You must investigate and, if necessary, impeach a recently appointed circuit judge.

A Department of Justice lawyer was fired after he told a judge the truth about a case he was handling. The April 15, 2025, Wall Street Journal reported that a deputy attorney general suspended Erez Reuveni for not following department orders. Mr. Reuveni said he had been directed to mislead judges in deportation cases.

Despite a federal judge’s ruling years ago that the man should not be deported, the federal government deported him this year in violation of the court order.

When the judge questioned Mr. Reuveni about the man’s deportation to El Salvador, the lawyer admitted ignorance and stated that he had inquired about it with his client, the federal government, but had not received a satisfactory response.

Mr. Reuveni became a whistleblower and told the Senate Judiciary Committee that his superior, Emil Bove, told department lawyers that they might need to disregard court orders and “,” in deportation cases.

The NY Times reported that another complaint in the Justice Department that was made the same allegations as Mr. Reuveni.

Emil Bove was appointed to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, a lifetime appointment. He can only be removed by impeachment.

All courts and ruling authorities require lawyers to disclose the truth even if it hurts the client. It is a fundamental principle. Lawyers have been barred from practicing in our local federal courts for similar behavior.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one.” (Matthew 5:37)

The Marine Corps website tells us about the Marine view of honor.

“…(N)ever lie, never cheat or steal; … Honor compels Marines… to hold ourselves and others accountable for every action.”

Do you plan to address the issue of honesty in the Justice Department? And/or investigate Circuit Judge Bove?
