EDITOR:

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses earning to be free” The wretched refuse of your teaming shore” and we will have you arrested by masked men, thrown on to airplanes with no representations and flown to prisons in some alligator infested swamp or flown to other countries you never heard of. Is this what Ronald Reagan referred to in his speech? Is this what our shining light of democracy and a beacon of hope for all people and nations to be free and to live in peace?

My own father lived the American dream coming to this country from Switzerland at is and becoming a naturalized citizen. He not only had to learn to speak English but graduated from Wayne State University and became one of the top engineers at General Motors with many patents to his credit. Our families dream of peace and prosperity in a new world would never have happened in today’s climate of hate, intolerance, mistrust of others. Those in our government who also are immigrants should look at their own heritage. We are all immigrants from other lands except for the American Indians.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” should apply to everyone. When did Donald Trump become an American born Indian?
