Have you heard President Trump refer to RINOs (Republican In Name Only)? There are many local examples of this, but the most obvious is Matt Jensen running as a Republican for County Commissioner. First, he ran as a Democrat in 2016 for Wells Twp Supervisor, then he ran as an Independent in the recall election. Then, if you still weren’t sure of where Matt’s true allegiance was, as a county commissioner he nominated Kelli VanGinhoven, who is probably the most liberal elected official in the UP, to vice-chair of the Delta County Commission. That certainly was not the action of a true Republican. Nonetheless, now Matt is running as a Republican in the primary against the strong conservative Bob Peterson. Why? Because he knows that if he runs in his true party as a Democrat that he doesn’t stand a chance in a general election around here. But he is going to get his liberal backers to show up in droves and cross party lines in the low voter turnout primary election. Come on Matt, how do you sleep at night knowing that you need to deceive the people in order to be elected? To the Democrats planning to vote for him, or any of the various other Democrats running for office in the Republican primary; are you so arrogant that you feel justified to lie about your party affiliation and undermine the election process to further your cause? You should be ashamed of yourself.
