Raffle to benefit Delta County Cancer Alliance

EDITOR:

Over the past three years I have had the privilege to be a part of the Delta County Cancer Alliance located here in Escanaba and serving all of Delta County.

I will say my participation in this Alliance has been very humbling. This non-profit organization has served thousands of local cancer patients and assists over one hundred new patients yearly. And this task is being accomplished by all volunteers. We have 40 plus volunteers who faithfully run the office Monday through Friday afternoons to serve our clients in need. We also have a dedicated board of directors who work together to raise money and oversee the fiscal responsibilities of the Alliance to ensure we are financially prepared to help those in need.

With that said, know that we are always looking for additional volunteers to be available at the office to serve clients. We are also thankful for all financial donations used to help cancer patients in need and appreciate gently used equipment (walkers, toilet risers, canes, and other appropriate equipment for cancer patients.

At this time, the board of directors has organized a raffle ticket fundraiser where all monies made will be used to help local cancer patients. Tickets will be available for sale through Sunday, November 12, 6 p.m. This date was chosen to incorporate a chance to win up to $1,000 just in time for Thanksgiving and Black Friday Christmas shopping. So your purchase of raffle tickets will not only support the Cancer Alliance but also offer a chance to win some great cash awards. Tickets are being sold for one for $5 or three for $10

Tickets are available for purchase at the Delta County Cancer Alliance, 3430 Ludington Street, Escanaba, Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba during regular business hours.

This event will conclude Sunday, November 12 at the Escanaba Elks Club, 510 Ludington Street, Escanaba. The event will run from 4 t0 6 p.m. and will include fellowship and a sloppy joe dinner for purchase, concluding with the raffle drawing at 6 p.m. Community and families are invited to attend. Look forward to a Christmas theme.

In closing, the Delta County Board of Directors would like to thank our community for their continued support allowing the Alliance to serve so many of our friends, family and community members enduring the challenges of cancer.

For questions or concerns call the Cancer Alliance office at 906.786.0854.

We are blessed to live in a community that is so generous and eager to help our people in need.
