Support for commissioners

The clarity hearing of the recall petitions for Commissioners Barron, Moyle and Petersen found that the language was clear, factual and referred to an action that occurred in the current term. What it did not do was judge the merit of the statement. According to County Boards of Commissioners (excerpt) Act 156 of 1851 Chapter 46.11 Powers of board of commissioners. Sec. 11(O) in Michigan State Law, the Commissioners acted within their scope of authority, when they fired the administrator.
To anyone who reads the letters to the editor, attends the board meetings or reviews the Delta County You-Tube channel, it is clear that there has been a concerted effort to get rid of commissioners Barron, Moyle and Petersen. Traditionally, in a civil society, the loser of a contest is not allowed to destroy the winner. The loser goes home and the winner takes the prize. In the August 2022 Republican primary, Christine Williams lost to Commissioner Barron, and so lost her opportunity to compete in the general election for the District 3 county seat. She forgot to go home.
In the general election of November 2022, Kelly van Ginhoven lost the District 4 county seat to Commissioner Moyle. She forgot to go home too. Many other residents have voiced their opposition as well, using belligerent and defamatory language during the public comment portion of the meetings.
The Republican Party of Delta County supports Commissioner Barron, Commissioner Moyle and Commissioner Petersen. We appreciate their fortitude and steadfast courage enduring all the slings and arrows thrown at them in the past six months, and we thank them for it. We do not support the recall effort.
