In response to LeeAnne Oman of the Delta County Republican Committee dated 7/20/23, I have some thoughts and opinions.

The irony of this statement I hope is not lost on me. “Traditionally, in a civil society, the loser of contest is not allowed destroy the winner. The loser goes home and the winner takes the prize.”

The leader of the Republican Party in the United States has been crying since he lost in 2020 and trying to destroy anyone who he feels wronged him.

There were 20 recall efforts launched against Governor Whitmer in 2020. An additional 14 in 2021.

Currently there are five Democratic Michigan State Representatives who have had recall paperwork submitted against them.

Maybe hypocrisy would be a better word.

I hope voters in Bob Barron’s district, District 3 take to heart the Delta County Republican’s endorsement of him. He has spent his entire time on this board pushing to take away land rights of the majority of those who live in his district. Even after all the other commissioners voted that he should recuse himself from the annexation issue, he refused to step aside. Because its the reason he is on that board and he wasn’t going to be forced to be ethical and professional. All so he and seven others could make bank on a solar project. Chairman Moyle allows him to use his seat to go on his soapbox to spend an enormous amount of time listing all his grievances, mostly about who he hates and who has, in his eyes, wronged him. He isn’t on that board to be a public servant. He is on that board to benefit himself. According to Mr Moyle at the the 7/18/23 the board actually passed a resolution stating that Bob Barron is not a racist, homophobic, xenophobe. Why would you need to do that?

Barron spent an enormous amount of time at the last meeting once again, espousing all the discrimination against straight white Christian men while blaming it on blacks, indigenous, LGBTQ, and people of color. oh and Marxism.

I am glad she brought up the YouTube channel. You don’t have to take my word on any of this. It’s all public on the Delta County Commissioners YouTube channel.

So in the coming weeks, there will be a petition to recall three of the commissioners. Just a reminder, all five of the Delta County Commissioners are Republican. Politics has no place in the county commission. They are not legislators. The entirety of their job is to do what’s best for this county. They are not doing that. So what this means is if there are enough signatures, 666 in Moyles district, 1,001 in Barrons district and 775 in Petersen’s district, there will be another election in November. Contrary to Mr. Moyle’s statement, since there is already a scheduled election for sheriff, the cost will be minimal.
