City not ready for summer

EDITOR:

Spring. It’s also summer. In a little over two weeks it will be summer. Does the city know? First item: Are we not going to utilize the beach house? Second item: Kruisin’ Classics was just here. Before that, the weather had been perfect for at least 10 days, but where were the flowers? The planters were full of weeds. What happened? If the city workers (or whoever does it) was too busy or unavailable, you could have put the word out and I believe thee are enough of us to plant the flowers. I know that we could have done a couple. There are several businesses that would have helped. We should have looked our best for all of the cruise ship, and Fun Run visitors and residents alike.

Another thing. I was told that the baseball field by the football field is the city’s. What I know it as Al Ness Field. I’m not sure who is in charge of that, but last weekend there was a tournament there and no bathrooms and no concessions. Whoever was supposed to be in charge missed out on a lot of money. It was quite warm and the closest place to get anything was Southside and Po’s Pizza. Po’s is really good, but it’s baseball. I will say that Ludington Park looks great!
