Abortion coverage
EDITOR:
It is biased and faulty reporting to regularly put pro abortion news and pictures in the Daily Press on the front page, e. g. August 23, 2022, September 22, 2022, and October 1-2nd, 2022 while not reporting and posting the conflicting alternative news of pro life. One of the articles stated that groups on both sides of this debate are interested in the elections in November, but the Daily Press reported and showed pictures on the front page of only the abortion rights side of the debate, no verbiage for pro life rights. Why didn’t the Press have a front page news article and picture of the March for life held in Washington DC recently that stated “Human rights begin in the womb “? Or perhaps a picture and news article of our own supporters of a human rights march that occurred on Lincoln Road on a Sunday recently? And one of the news articles referred to abortion as a health care issue. Another referred to abortion as winning reproductive freedom. (I thought we did that in the 60s with the pill) Yet another Daily Press article referenced “my body, my choice,” i. e. my freedom to choose. Do you really think it’s just your body involved and that it’s OK to choose to kill your child? According to USA Today (May 24, 2019), one percent of women obtain abortions because of pregnancy through rape and less than 0.5% do so because of incest with a very small number attributed to health issues of the mother. This is often toted as, “I don’t believe in abortion but in cases of rape, incest, or health care of the mother, I do.” This is hardly where the majority of abortions are occurring. One of the most disturbing front page Press articles to me was in the August 23, 2022 article. It showed a mother taking her daughter to college and both of them lamenting the fear they had for college success because Roe versus Wade had been returned to the states. They didn’t know what the daughter/mother would do if the daughter had a wild weekend of fun or freedom with her boyfriend and a pregnancy occurred. It appears as though abortion, killing of your child, is used by many as a form of birth control. My, my. Where are we heading?
