Proposal 2

EDITOR:

Yes, we have literally changed Election Day into a season of election activity. We can now simply register to receive an absentee ballot forever. And get this, the State of Michigan will have to pay the postage. What do you need to register to vote in Michigan? Something as simple as a utility bill with your name and address on it. Fear not though, Prop 2 on the ballot, if passed, would allow you to simply sign a statement saying you are who you say you are, or you can provide a photograph Identification. It’s quite the season for voting already, but it will be made even more joyous when state funded drop boxes (unguarded) are made to be provided for your voting convenience. Combined with the fad of ballot harvesting, the American voter should rest assured that if a third party picks up your absentee ballot they will, without fail, take it to a designated drop box. Oh well, enough of the voting season. I urge people to take peek at the sample ballot available online — you can even print it out if you want to and study it. It’s written in such a way that I’m sure you’ll be enlightened and confused at the same time.

I’m not telling you how I am going to vote on Prop 2 — and please don’t tell me how you are either. What is most important is that do vote.
