My name is Todd Chouinard, I am a retired detective from Escanaba Public Safety, and I would like to announce that I will be voting for Prosecutor Lauren Wickman. I have had first-hand experience working side by side with her on many of my cases and witnessed her excel in this position. Delta County is very lucky to have such a hard-working, dedicated and humble person working to keep the community safe.

I have not heard of a single law enforcement officer in Delta County who would have something negative to say about Prosecutor Lauren Wickman. I believe all of them, if asked, will say they are also voting for her in this upcoming election.

She has been vital to law enforcement throughout her employment of nearly six years with the Delta County Prosecutors Office. There have been cases where I needed advice and assistance, where detectives, officers, and myself have contacted her throughout the midnight hours and she has readily and willingly answered every one of those calls. Wickman has even come to some of the crime scenes, no matter the time of day or night. She has assisted with legal advice, writing up search warrants and making sure all of our reports were fully documented. If there were any questions or concerns with the case, she would be sure to contact that officer to make certain that she had the details she needed to either prosecute or deny charges. Furthermore, I admire her dedication and wiliness to advocate for those who are in victim roles. She takes the time to hear their story and offers support in their fight for justice.

In my experience, Prosecutor Wickman has never been unprepared for any of my numerous court trials. She understands the case inside and out and always comes fully prepared with the necessary documents and visual aides to assist jury members in her prosecution.

I have had the pleasure of watching her develop her skills to become a superior prosecutor in her six years with the Prosecutor’s Office. I feel that there is no better choice than to vote for Lauren Wickman to continue representing Delta County in the position of prosecuting attorney.
