EDITOR:

All politics are local. We need people in office who do not have a personal agenda in office, are willing to listen to others and their opinions with respect and are dedicated to making our government the best it can be. To that end, I am recommending Theresa Nelson and Kelli VanGinhoven. I would like to share my reasons for recommending both of these people. I have lived in Escanaba Township for 45 years. I am voting for Theresa Nelson because I feel she is committed to making decisions that benefit all the people in District 3. Her commitment to serve is evidenced by her work on a number of boards. She is a person dedicated to being the best representative of all the people in the area. She is highly qualified, hard-working, and honest and is committed to speaking out and also listening to the other side with polite attention. She is willing to work with people in a respectful manner. She does not have a personal agenda for running for this office. She has served on other boards with integrity, and a genuine desire to give back. Because of her hard work, and ability to work with others, she has been asked to serve on a number of boards. She would be a positive influence on our Board. Kelli is another person who would be a positive person to have on our board. Since she is running for another District, I cannot vote for her but I think she is honest, caring and open to the opinions and ideas of everyone. Her commitment to the community by donating and supporting the many organizations and groups in our area is to be commended. She is generous, caring and intelligent. We need positive people in elected positions with the courage and integrity to do the right thing.
