I am writing to recommend Kelli van Ginhoven for your consideration for Delta County Board of Commissioners.

I’m recommending her for three reasons.

First, she is a forward-thinking person. In my specific town, Escanaba, we are seeing momentum and positive change like I can’t remember. Kellie is a person who is positive and proactive, someone who loves to learn about issues and their impacts on real people, and she will be a very good person to have giving her thought and energy to the board.

Second is her willingness to listen to all sides. She’s running as an Independent. When walking in the Labor Day parade, she stopped numerous times to listen to what people of all stripes had to say. As someone without a political “tribe” myself, this is refreshing. Not to imply that she does not have convictions — just that contributing to the common good seems to be her overarching concern.

Third is a personal note and that is about her charitable work. Often her shop is involved in charitable giving to a local cause. Just last week she had a day at her bakery where all revenue – not just profit — went to support the End the Silence Walk for suicide awareness and prevention. Kelli is a caring person who doesn’t just talk the talk but makes it real through action.

In short, Kelli van Ginhoven is a terrific choice for Delta County Board.
