Dear Dr. Fletcher and Escanaba School Board members:

It has come to our attention that you are considering bringing boy’s tennis back under the financial umbrella of the Escanaba School System. We heartily endorse this idea. Boys tennis has flourished under the excellent leadership of Tom Penegor. There are more boys going out for tennis in Escanaba now than at any other time in the history of Escanaba High. And their outstanding performance in 2021, winning both the GNC and UP tennis titles, is evidence of the boys commitment to tennis.

Four of our five children played varsity tennis for Escanaba – Michael, Laura, Zach and Anna. We left Escanaba before our youngest daughter Olivia was in high school.

It is a lifelong sport; we both continue to enjoy time on the court regularly. It is a great family sport. We all played together when the kids were younger.

We returned to Escanaba to retire four years ago and will continue to support the Escanaba School System. Please bring boys tennis back to the fold.
