Roe vs Wade decision
EDITOR:
Today January 22, 2022, Right to Life of Delta County and citizens in our country are remembering and mourning the tragic death of over 61 million precious unborn babies who died from legal abortion.
As I look back to 49 years ago today, January 22, 1973 I was very disappointed when it was announced that the Supreme Court of the United States of America ruled in their Roe vs Wade decision that unborn babies could be legally killed by abortion. The unborn were no longer legal persons having no rights or protections under our constitution. Their god given talents and gifts can never be replaced. Reality cannot be changed because the law now calls abortion “a choice or if we debate about a woman’s rights” instead of what abortion really is. It’s the deliberate killing of an unborn baby right up to birth in the womb. This ruling has opened the door to violence against other members of our human family and disrespect for all life. In 1936 Germany’s Supreme Court during Hitler’s reign over 6,000 000 Jews were put to death during the Holocaust. The reason was a Jew was not recognized as a legal person. Right to Life continues to be the voice for the unborn babies, working and praying to restore a legal protection for unborn babies in our country.
Thank you to each and everyone who continues to be a voice for the unborn and support making a difference for life in our area. We also remember the memory of Betty LaFave for her generous support to the Right to Life cause.
