Upset over accusations

EDITOR:

I am addressing some issues that were printed in Saturday’s press. I am so greatly angered at the Daily Press for what they have printed about my husband. Freedom of the press is one thing but printing falsehoods is reprehensible. Since when have you ever even asked him for his side of any story or actions? You are printing false accusations and this isn’t the first time you have done so. What you have written is hurting our family and damaging to his integrity in our community and makes us look like cheats. You have no idea on what truly took place. You are going on the voice of a person at city hall that has some sort of vengeful feelings towards my husband and knew he is for making changes for the sake of the community and it has set that person and others on a witch hunt to discredit his honesty. At no time have we ever misappropriated funds or misused funds. Money was given back to the city because of materials not used. Also we bid on the school bus garage long before he even became a commissioner and there was no knowledge of who was all bidding at that time. Matter of fact we won the bid but the city after some time talked the school into not accepting bids and made a different deal. No one should have to go through the things we have been through because of the misleading deceitfulness. Also my husband and Mike O’Connor are not the only candidates that are on the lawsuit over the 9th street project. I hope the citizens realize that it could be them in the future getting assessed because there are many streets to come that need repair. I’m trusting the people will vote to make a change in the way things have been done unless they like what is happening.

Please stop printing what you don’t know to be true.
