Jack Bergman

EDITOR:

Michigan’s 1st U.S. District Representative Jack Bergman’s failed attempt to disenfranchise Michigan’s voters and voters in five other states, by demanding that Congress reject these states’ Electoral College votes, was an attempted coup d’état, an attempt to overthrow a legitimately elected civil authority. How is this not sedition, sedition that stoked violent insurrection at our nation’s capital?

Michigan felony law states: Who, with the intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of a lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with another person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition.
