Mail-in voting is safe

EDITOR:

No, Dr. Blasier, mail-in ballots are not sent to dogs and cats or dead people. Ballot applications are sent to registered voters who must fill them out and return them in order to receive a ballot. Voters who have died cannot do this. Those who have moved will not receive the application unless it is forwarded, in which case it will likely be discarded. Voter fraud is a crime and the vast majority of voters are not criminals. An elected public official should know this. You should also know that false information about elections undermines public confidence and weakens our democracy.
