Whitmer’s agenda

EDITOR:

I had high hopes for Governor Whitmer when she was elected. She did not seem inclined to get into political bickering and seemed like she truly wanted to work with everybody for the best of Michigan. However, whether it’s the crisis itself, or her desire to be vice president, but her true colors are showing through. Her latest restrictions have nothing to do with keeping the virus in check and everything to do with pushing her agenda on Michigan citizens, and maybe making national headlines in the process.

My Vegan neighbor can take their kayak for a ride on the bay, but I can’t take my 14-foot boat with a 9.9 hp outboard over to Garden to fish for perch with my son. Tree huggers can go out on hiking trails, but my son can’t ride his four-wheeler out on ATV trails. My dad can’t get a preventative heart surgery, but the 19 year old girl can go to Planned Parenthood in Marquette to get an abortion. The NMU student can get a delivery from the pot shop in Negaunee, but my wife can’t go to Chenier’s to get a head start on her garden. If these aren’t agenda driven limitations, right out of the Bernie Sanders playbook, I don’t know what is. How is keeping me from fishing, or my son from riding his four-wheeler, going to prevent the spread of the virus? We need to remember what she is doing to us when she comes up for re-election.
