Halloween mischief

EDITOR:

We must have some older or new kids in my neighborhood on South 14th as this is the first time pumpkins have been assaulted in my yard in 32 years…not once, but two nights in a row…and the third night was in my neighbor’s yard. It’s uncool to trespass into someone’s property to do you Halloween mischief. It’s very, very uncool to throw the pumpkin(s) at someone’s home. A little bit higher and/or to the left and his windows would have been broken. Whomever these miscreants were, they were at my house around 8 p.m. on the 31st and around 9 p.m. on Nov. 1. They had to get slimy when removing those impaled decorations. It was on Nov. 2nd at around 9:45 p.m., they hit my neighbor’s house – literally. One of these persons was seen. I understand that this young man is about 5′ tall and was wearing puffed-type of jacket that is white or silver or gray.

Whomever handles these matters and you find out who they are or the parents bring he and his buddies to you, may I suggest that the youngsters work off their antics in the yards (and that’s a lot of yards on South 14th up to 3rd Avenue) they trespassed on at two hours per month until next Halloween. Keep this up and all you’ll accomplish is getting people less enthused about spending money and time on Halloween. This, in turn affects those who sell the pumpkins and the kids we love to decorate our yards for and to treat.
