The so called crunch time is coming upon us all. That is the time when the five members of the Escanaba City Council will decide if or not we need to sell and commercialize recreational marijuana in our city.

A big part of being informed on this issue is to keep up on the fast paced developments on a daily basis.

On July 3, 2019, the state of Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) released the official rules and regulations under which the marijuana industry will operate in our state following the adoption of proposal 6-1 in November and December of 2018.

It is very important to read these rules and regulations. Study them, evaluate the pros and cons. We need to be concerned on this important issue. Our decisions will be carry out for many years. Upon being informed we should be able to decide if we need drug sales in our community legally. We do still have a choice. Please continue to be informed on this decision. We must think of our youth and adolescents and the future of Escanaba.
