From Dan and Gay Kleikamp:
We want to thank all the police officers who participated in Shop With a Cop on Saturday, Dec. 13. I was at Walmart when they were there and they were so patient with the kids, and the kids were so excited and took gift buying very serious.
Thank you to Carter McDonough for raising funds again this year for such a worthy cause. We wish every one of you a safe and blessed Christmas.
From the Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency Senior Services Nutrition Program:
Menominee-Delta-Schoolcraft Community Action Agency Senior Services Nutrition Program gives thanks as they receive a donation of 100 pounds of ground beef from Enbridge Inc. Thank you, Enbridge!

From Jeffrey Scheuren, president, Esky Band Boosters:
On behalf of the Esky Band Boosters, I extend my heartfelt thanks for the incredible generosity shown in memory of John “Jack” Chown – beloved teacher, mentor and friend to so many. Together, you have donated over $7,000 to Esky Band Boosters in his name, which is a testament to the deep respect and admiration we all share for him and his love of the Escanaba Band Programs. Your contributions not only honor his memory but also ensure that his spirit continues to inspire future generations.
During our December general meeting, it was discussed that all monies donated in his memory will be dedicated to a special purpose that reflects his lifelong pursuit of nurturing the musical abilities in all students. This purpose will be discussed further at our next meeting in January and will be determined based on the final donations received. We will share that decision with you and ensure that every contribution is used thoughtfully and with care.
When I shared this with Jack’s family, they were extremely happy to hear this and shared the following:
“We are moved by how so many former students and members of the community thought so fondly of him and made contributions in his memory. He would be so pleased that the money given will be used to support the EHS band program that he loved until the end.”
In accordance with their wishes, additional memorials will still be accepted, and we welcome anyone who wishes to join in this meaningful tribute. Donations can be made online at https://eskybandboosters.com/donations or mailed to: Esky Band Boosters, P.O. Box 905, Escanaba, MI 49829.
Thank you for standing together in remembrance and for demonstrating the strength of our community. Your generosity is a powerful reminder that even in loss, we can create lasting impact.
From Grace Davey:
This is a letter of praise of Elmer’s grocery. The owners and staff are wonderful people.
I am a member of the Salvation Army and a bellringer. During the cold days, Elmer’s brings us inside the store to sit as a bellringer. I would like to thank them on behalf of all the volunteers.
And thank you, Walgreens, for their consideration, also.
From Janet Lindstrom, Escanaba:
I would just like to thank all the people who brought our community beautiful music this holiday season. It wouldn’t be Christmas without it. Also, thank you to all the children who were in “The Great Christmas Cookie Bake-Off!” and “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” You were all outstanding and you conveyed the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you to those who guide and direct them, especially their parents.
