Companies help welding students

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Joe Hinkson, Manistique Center ISD welding instructor:

The Delta-Schoolcraft ISD, Manistique Center, welding students would like to thank UP Paper and Fastenal for their generous donation to Mr. Hinkson’s welding classes. These companies donated welding hoods, grinding wheels, cut off wheels, markers, safety glasses, and gloves to the students. They also made sure that all 48 students, which includes three separate welding classes, had their own tape measures. This donation of equipment is a huge part of the students’ everyday tasks to help make them become a more successful and employable adults when they enter the workforce. It is support like this that helps make vocational programs more successful. Mr. Hinkson and all 48 students would like to say thank you to UP Paper and Fastenal. It is greatly appreciated. Dave Ekstrom from UP Paper has served on the Manistique Center welding advisory committee for the past three years. Dave saw a need for the students and worked with Brenda from Fastenal to put this donation together. Mr. Hinkson would also like to thank Brenda LeBoeuf from Fastenal, and Nicole Barker from UP Paper for helping to be a part of this donation as well. Their support for students being in trades classes was an important part of helping these students become successful.
