USW Strike for Hunger a success

This week’s bouquets go to:

From USW Strike for Hunger:

The USW Local 2-21 and Women of Steel would like to thank the community, Elmer’s County Market and Pat’s Foods for their generosity during the USW Strike for Hunger. Due to your generous giving we were able to raise $9,188 in monetary donations and 1.5 tons of food. All donations collected at the above locations were donated to food pantries in the local areas.

From the Viau family:

Panic in our hearts within seconds to cheers within an hour. What incredible people we have in the local community. Our family thanks you with enormous gratitude for your quick response in our time of desperation. To our neighbors Matt and Lynn Sattem, to the professional workers of the Michigan State Police, Delta County Sheriff, DRN, Rampart and Delta County Search and Rescue. It seems within minutes from our call for assistance to the thoughtful 911 dispatch team you were in full force. Executing your skills seamlessly towards a quick positive outcome for our family.

It’s just amazing to reinforce our belief how fortunate we are to have such devoted people. Working unselfishly, caringly to help and assist to enhance each and everyone’s life. You are in our hearts forever.

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
