Firefighters say thanks for new tanker
This week’s bouquets go to:
From the inwood Township Fire Department:
Inwood Township, along with the Inwood Volunteer Fire Department, purchased a new 2,000 gallon water tanker. The new tanker is replacing a 1985 1,200 gallon tanker that was removed from service two years ago, leaving Inwood Township with only one tanker. The fire department along with the township board worked very hard over the past two years to fulfill this need.
The Inwood Township Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the Inwood Township Board. Without them none of this would have been possible. Thank you to the USDA (Michelle Wiles) for the grant of $50,000. Thank you to Sault Ste. Tribe of Chippewa Indians for their grant of $10,000. Thank you to all who supported the Cooks Corn Roast. The corn roast profits helped us get the new tanker. Also the profits help keep the volunteer firefighters safe with new equipment and supplies. Special thanks go out to Chief Loren Swayer and Cindy Swayer for writing the grants and Township Supervisor Kelly Silkworth for her help with the grants and her support for the fire department. Thanks to all of Inwood volunteer firefighters who helped.
Inwood Township and Inwood Township Fire Department want to thank Osco Tank and Truck out of Orion, Ill. They are a family-run business and their attention to detail and customer service is excellent.
