Annual Tackle Cancer was a success

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Lauren Bishop:

2nd Annual Tackle Cancer update: On behalf of Escanaba Silver Linings, Escanaba Key Club, Bay College Circle K, and Gladstone Key Club, we would like to thank our sponsors and the community for helping us raise over $4,300 for the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Thank you to the football players who shaved their heads in the freezing weather: Brandon Frazer, Austin Stephens, and Tylor Welch of Escanaba, and Greg Chenier of Gladstone. We fell a bit short of our goal, but we can blame the crummy weather on the day of the big event. The amount raised was only possible because of the generosity of local businesses and residents. The money will help local families in need. Together we are Delta strong. Thank you.

From Right to Life of Delta County:

Thank you from Right to Life of Delta County to all the churches who took part in collecting signatures for the petition drive to ban the Dismemberment Abortion in Michigan. Also everyone who helped to collect the signatures and those who signed the petition. Note: petitions are still available and can be signed for the next few weeks. For more information call carol at 786-4795 or visit Michigan ValuesLife.org or call (616)532-2300.

Thanks to Sue Tackman and John Malony for their efforts in organizing the local life chain in Escanaba on Sunday, Oct. 6. This National Prayerful event is held in October across the country in support of the Sanctity of Life for the unborn who cannot speak for themselves. Thanks to all who took part by carrying crosses and posters and for their prayerful support.
