Thank you to the volunteer vets
This week’s bouquets go to:
From: Andrew E. Nelson, past commander, American Legion Post 301, Rapid River:
As Veterans Day approaches, I would like to give a special thanks to veterans who participate in veterans memorial services.
Having experienced many memorial services, I have on occasion been approached and been asked, how much does the government pay to do such rites.
My reply is, “Those veterans who participate are all volunteers.”
So again thanks to the volunteer vets.
From Memorial United Methodist Church of Gladstone:
The Memorial United Methodist Church of Gladstone would like to thank all those who helped make the free community Trunk or Treat and Halloween Carnival a success. Over 250 children and their families enjoyed games, a wide variety of prizes, and meals of hot dogs, chips, cup cakes, and green slime punch. Food and prizes were provided by local businesses. Many volunteers helped decorate, served food, and passed out candy to the trunk or treaters. A special thanks to the Gladstone Key Club who hosted the many games and did face-painting that delighted the children. Thank you all for helping to provide a safe and fun Halloween event.
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
