Local sports teams shine at state level

This week’s bouquets go to:

From the Gladstone High School Baseball Boosters:

The Gladstone High School Baseball Booster’s would like to thank Pat’s Food and Elmer’s County Market for allowing our players, coaches and parents to fund raise at your places of business for our playoff run to Michigan Sate for the Final Four. We would also like to thank all the wonderful businesses, organizations and individuals who generously donated to our Final Four playoff run. We are very grateful to our community for their support. Join us for our fall Pasty Sale and our delicious spring breakfast. Gooooo Braves!

From Mike “Chief” Olson of Escanaba:

It seems that once again, Delta County athletics shine forth with the Escanaba softball state championship. Congratulations to the team, coach and all involved making us all look and feel great. I was pleased to see a representative of the EHS music department send his special “congratulations” to the team, too. And, also, congratulations to the Gladstone Braves baseball team for going so far into state competition this year also, and special good wishes to their coach, Don Lauscher, for all of his efforts over so many seasons.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
