VULCAN, Mich. — Norman F. Schmid, 88, of Vulcan, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. Among survivors include his two children, Suzi Staffel of Beaufort, NC and Scott Schmid of Vulcan, Michigan. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. ESCANABA — Hideko Blomstrom, 94, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. Among survivors include her son, Joseph Blomstrom of California. A full obituary is forthcoming. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 20th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home. A Mass of Chrisian Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church with rev. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will be provided after the mass in the church hall.
