ESCANABA — Fred J. Hedberg of Escanaba, Michigan, age 89, passed away on December 31, 2023, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility of Powers, Mich. The memorial service for Fred will be celebrated by Pastor Jay Gilchrist at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, at the Ford River Community Chapel, 3103 M-35, Bark River, MI 49807. BARK RIVER — Donna Joyce Erickson, 88, of Bark River, passed away at home on Christmas morning, December 25, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Among survivors are her husband, Leonard. Major Henry J. ‘Chip’ Cipolla

ESCANABA — Major Henry J. “Chip” Cipolla, 85, of Escanaba, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024 at his home. Among survivors are his wife, Mary Kay. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials in Chip’s name may be directed to Escanaba Rotary Trust, Camp Harstad, P.O. Box 821, Escanaba, MI 49829. A complete obituary will be forthcoming. Mary Jane Martin

GLADSTONE — Mary Jane Martin, 92, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023 at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5 from 11 a.m. until noon at St. Anne’s Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to U.P. Health and Hospice, St. Anne’s Church Choir, or St. Vincent de Paul Society. The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Martin family.
