Beth was born November 23, 1946 in Escanaba, the daughter of Victor and Lorraine Mankiewicz. Beth was raised in Rock. She was the 1964 valedictorian of Rock High School. Beth continued her education at Northern Michigan University where in 1968, she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
