ESCANABA -- Pete J. Schlenvogt, age 53, passed away while doing his postal route on Monday, October 19, 2026 in Escanaba.
Pete was born on March 31, 1973, the son of Harold and Virginia (Kirt) Schlenvogt. He attended and graduated from Stephenson High School Class of 1991.
He furthered his education at Northern Michigan University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Social Science with a Physical Education minor with an emphasis on Coaching. He worked various jobs over the years and most recently was working for the United States Postal Service as a Mail Carrier.
Pete leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth Schlenvogt
Children: TJ, Johnny (girlfriend Lexie King), Brett (girlfriend Ella Johnson), Jordan, and Scotty
Father: Harold Schlenvogt of Stephenson, MI
Siblings: Steven (Joan) Scott (Kim) Jane Schlenvogt-Dew, Julie Schlenvogt, Tina (Anthony) Johnson
Pete was preceded in death by mother, Virginia Schlenvogt and brother-in-law, Mat Dew
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 from 2:30 p.m. EST. until 5:30 p.m. EST. at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Escanaba. A funeral service will be led by Pastor Sarah Sleeter at 5:30 p.m. EST at Christ the King Lutheran Church. A meal will follow in the fellowship hall. Pete will be laid to rest in the Stephenson Township Cemetery Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. EST. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family to establish a scholarship in Pete's honor at a future date. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Schlenvogt family.
