WILSON -- Michael "Mike" A. Getzloff, 56, of Wilson, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday morning, October 4, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 14, 1970 in Escanaba. Mike graduated from Bark River Harris School in 1988 and was a lifelong resident of Wilson, Michigan.
On October 12, 2002, Mike married the former Darcy Kaminen in Escanaba. Family was the heart of Mike's life. He was blessed with a daughter, Cherish Mlostek. Mike and his wife Darcy were blessed with triplets, and he cherished every opportunity to support his children and be involved in their lives. He proudly supported his children in their sports and activities and was always there cheering them on. He was a strong supporter of both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, especially as his two daughters attend the respective universities.
Mike Getzloff was a hardworking man whose life was rooted in family, farming, and community. Alongside his family, he owned and operated Bishop Springs Farm, a family-owned farm that was a source of great pride and joy. He also worked as a truck driver for Ray's Feed Mill, balancing both careers with remarkable dedication. His mornings were spent behind the wheel, and his afternoons were devoted to the farm, where he could often be found doing what he loved most - farming. That love of farming was something he proudly shared with his son, Colten. The two spent countless hours working side by side, united by their shared love of farming and attending farm shows, and the special bond it created between father and son.
Mike loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed riding his side-by-side, spending time with family and friends, and simply being outside. He also had a talent for carpentry and took great pride in completing an extensive expansion of their family home.
In 2009, the family began Getzloff Corn Maze, creating another special family tradition and business that brought people together year after year. Mike enjoyed every aspect of the farm and the corn maze and took pride in the work, memories, and family involvement that came with them.
Mike will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of farming and the outdoors, his dedication to his family, and the many ways he supported those he loved.
The family would like to thank all of their amazing friends for their endless support and help during this time. Mike always said, "If you don't have friends, you don’t have anything."
He is survived by his loving wife, Darcy Getzloff and his children, Ava, Colten, Adrianna Getzloff and Cherish Mlostek (Chris).
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Adolph and sisters, Lori Ann Getzloff and Mary Beth Bovin.
A celebration of Mike's life will take place on Friday, October 9 from 5-7 p.m. EST at the Getzloff's Corn Maze with a meal provided for family and friends.
