ESCANABA -- Cathy Ruth Provo, age 82 of Escanaba, passed away October 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 30, 1943, in Escanaba, MI was the daughter of John and Anna Swed. Attended school in Escanaba.
Cathy married Ronald Provo on August 5, 1961. They were married for 60 years and raised 5 children.
She was a stay-at-home mom for many years. In 2003-2012 She worked as a cook at many of the Escanaba Public Schools.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband to see her children and grandchildren. Hobbies were gardening, collecting blown glass and kick-knacks from all the states.
Survived by children; Cathy (Jamie) Hopkins of New London, Iowa, Ronald (Laura) Provo of Novi, MI, Laurie Hill of Keota, IA, John (Melissa) Provo of Granbury, TX and Elizabeth (Provo) Schwandt New London, IA; 12 Grand Children and 19 Great Grand Children and her beloved dog Molly.
Was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Provo; parents John and Anna Swed; brothers, John and Leonard Swed; and sisters Linnea Kasen and Amelia Malloy.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Family remembrances will be shared at 2:00 pm Sunday, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
