WINFIELD, Ill. -- Timothy Halligan LeMire, age 81, of Winfield, IL passed away on September 4th, 2026 after a brief illness. Tim grew up in Escanaba, MI, as the youngest of Dr. William II and Margaret LeMire's 4 children.
Tim attended Holy Name School in Escanaba and graduated in 1963. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964-68. Following his military service, Tim attended Central Michigan University, graduating in 1972.
Tim’s lifelong passion for selling Cadillacs began in 1978 when he joined Heritage Cadillac in Lombard, Illinois. Over a distinguished career spanning 35 years, he earned numerous sales awards and became well known for his dedication, professionalism, and love of the automobile business. He retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of success and lasting relationships.
A devoted Chicago sports fan, Tim passionately supported the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox throughout his life. If a team played in Chicago, chances were he was cheering them on. He was also a loyal fan of the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a tribute to both his Irish heritage and the school attended by his brothers, Bill and John.
Tim is survived by his sister, Mary Margo LeMire of Escanaba, and by his sisters-in-law, Nancy LeMire and Connie LeMire, also of Escanaba. Also surviving him are his beloved nieces and nephews, Laura LeMire, Anne Franks, Joe (Becky) LeMire, Patrick (Pam)LeMire, Jim LeMire, John (Patti) LeMire, Jeannie (Mark) Stevenson, Scott (Tracy) LeMire and Patricia Sue (Todd) Guerne. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy and their unborn son; his parents, Dr. William A. LeMire II and Margaret Halligan LeMire, and by his brothers, Dr. William A. LeMire III and Dr. John R. LeMire. Tim was also preceded in death by two nephews, William A. LeMire IV and Brian Franks.
Though deeply missed, Tim’s memory will live on through the family and friends who loved him and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Tim LeMire on Saturday, September 26th at Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba, MI. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by military honors and a prayer service.
Tim’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to his niece, Anne Franks, who became his devoted caregiver during the final years of his life. Anne’s unwavering commitment, compassion, and loving care brought Tim comfort, dignity, and peace during his later years. Her selfless dedication will never be forgotten and was a great blessing to Tim.
