ESCANABA -- Theresa (Cody) Begovich, age 84, of Escanaba passed away on Sept. 12, 2026 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Theresa was born April 30, 1942 in Escanaba, the daughter of Edward and Frances (Racine) Cody. She was raised in the Chemical Plant location and graduated from Escanaba High School. Theresa was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. She worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, volunteered at the St. Francis Hospital, St. Vincent de Paul Society, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren whom she loved very much. She also enjoyed the outdoors, nature, wildlife, hunting and fishing.
Theresa is survived by her four daughters, Linda (Scott) Mattes of Fredricksburg, VA, Nancy (Terry) Stark of Oconomowoc, WI, Christine (James) Collins of Gillette, WI and Jennifer (Begovich) Carmichael of Neillsville, WI; 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret Goodell and Rosalie McMahon, brother, Frederick Cody, niece, Julie McMahon and a special friend, Jim McGovern.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 2 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM with Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating. Theresa will be Inurned at the Gardens of Rest in Wells, Michigan.
