HYDE, Mich. -- Patricia "Patti" Lynn Dittrich, 66, of Hyde, lost her fight with liver cancer on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
Patti was born January 9, 1960, in Bark River, MI, to the late John and Carol (Perryman) McMahon. She was raised in Hyde and attended Escanaba High School, graduating in 1978. She was a member of the "Marching 100" band and had the pleasure of marching in parades at Disney World, Sea World, and Circus World. After graduation, Patti married her childhood sweetheart, Terry Lee Dittrich, in 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hyde. They have three sons together: Cory John, Kristopher Dayton, and Jesse Lee.
Patti then went on to study at Bay De Noc College and graduated with an LPN certificate. She proceeded to receive her ADN and finally BSN, Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Northern Michigan University.
Patti worked as a nurse at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba until her retirement in 2021. She also taught hands-on nursing clinics for Bay De Noc College, and worked at the Highland Golf Course.
She was an avid golfer, and a member of Women's League at the Highland Golf Course. When she wasn't golfing, Patti enjoyed gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She also liked to travel, especially to Rawlins, Wyoming.
Patti is survived by her husband of 47 years, Terry Dittrich; children, Cory (Stacy) Dittrich, Kristopher Dittrich, and Jesse (Brittany) Dittrich; grandchildren, Trenton, John, Jayden, Cora, Huntlee, and Oaklynn Dittrich; siblings, Barb (Cliff) McMahon, Gail (Larry) Kosobucki, Laura (Dennis) Dittrich, and John (Yvette) McMahon; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carol (Perryman) McMahon; and sisters, Sue and Judy.
A Celebration of Life including a meal will take place at the Highland Golf Club, 3011 Hwy US-2, Escanaba, on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and a nursing scholarship at Bay de Noc Community College will be established at a later date.
