GLADSTONE -- Kay LaDonne Deault, age 78, of Gladstone passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Gladstone. She was born November 16, 1947, in Escanaba, MI and was the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Marshall) DuRoy. Kay graduated from Gladstone High School in 1966 and then started her working career working at the Fair Store in Escanaba, Gambles, Pearson Boiler and then at Pearson Asbestos until her retirement in 2010.
The former Kay DuRoy married Ronald Deault on March 15, 1969, at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Together they shared 57 years of marriage.
Kay enjoyed organizing family gatherings and loved to bring the family together for all holidays. She was an avid reader, belonged to many book clubs and had a huge book collection.
Kay is survived by her husband Ronald; sister, Patricia Proehl; brother in laws, Arthur (Carol) Dault and Emery "Mike" (Sharon) Dault and nephews, Mark (Crista) Proehl and Paul Proehl.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kay will be layed to rest on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00 am in Fernwood Cemetery. A gathering will take place following the burial service at the family camp.
