NADEAU -- John E. Moreau, 89 of Nadeau passed away on Friday September 18, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. John was born on June 7, 1937 in Nadeau to Walter and Dora (Archambault) Moreau. On December 29, 1956, John married Ione Menard at St. Bruno Catholic Church. John worked as a union carpenter and janitor in Chicago before moving back to Nadeau. He worked in the carpenter/construction trade for many years until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed deer hunting, bird hunting, fishing, cutting brush and cutting and splitting firewood. He further enjoyed bowling, playing pool and golfing. He was a member of St.Bruno Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife: Ione; daughter: Karen Kazukiewicz; 2 sons: John (Debbie) and Jim (Suzanne); son-in-law: Steve Mikus Sr; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents: Walter & Dora; daughter: Connie Mikus; brother: Leonard (Shirley); and brother-in-law: Jim (Ada) Menard.
Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau on Tuesday September 22, 2026from 11:00 am CST until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. CST with Father DanielPolzer officiating. Burial will follow in Nadeau Township Cemetery. Following the burial, a meal will be served in the church fellowship hall.
