BARK RIVER -- Donna Jean Frossard, 92, of Bark River, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Donna was born August 27, 1934, in Schaffer, the youngest child of Joseph and Mary (Charbonneau) Michel. She attended school in Schaffer, & Bark River. On June 23, 1951, she married Victor Frossard. Donna later returned to school and proudly graduated from Bark River-Harris High School with her oldest son in 1971.
She worked for many years at Robinson's Furniture and later earned her nurse's aide certificate and worked at Christian Park. Donna and Victor raised their four children in Tesch before moving to Bark River. They shared 56 years of marriage until Victor's passing on October 1, 2007.
Donna enjoyed crocheting and won numerous awards at the U.P. State Fair for her baby blankets, bonnets, clothing, and doilies. Her handmade creations remain treasured by family and friends. She and Victor also enjoyed Sunday drives through the countryside, often searching for railroad depots. Later in life, Donna developed a love of travel and enjoyed family trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Orlando.
Donna moved to Bishop Noa Home in 2023, where she especially enjoyed bingo, yarn club, live music, and spending time with old and new friends.
She is survived by her children, Leland (Roxanne) Frossard, Linda Frossard, and Tammy West; grandchildren, Derek Frossard, Christopher Frossard, Scott Frossard, Angela (Todd) Farley, Craig West, and Stacey Frossard; great-grandchildren, Gavin Frossard, Austin Farley, Carter Farley, Ellison West, and Grady Ostrander; brother-in-law, Earl Juneau; sisters-in-law, Edna Frossard and Kay Michel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Terry; parents; and 11 siblings: Beatrice Skowlund, Leo Michel, Cecile Turk, Lwellyn Michel, Marcella LaCasse, Ernest Michel, Alverna Velleneuve, Royal "Sonny" Michel, Arnold Michel, James Michel, and Joseph Michel.
Donna's family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the nurses, caregivers, and Sisters at Bishop Noa Home for the kindness, care, and friendship they provided during her final years.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Donna will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer.
