GLADSTONE -- Richard John Van Damme, age 85, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1940 in Gladstone, Michigan to Louis and Margaret Van Damme.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman.
Richard is survived by his siblings Patricia McCarthy, Claire Burton, and Paul Van Damme all of Michigan; children, Richard (Nita) Van Damme, Jr. of Virginia, Nancy Van Damme, Pam Van Damme and Karen Van Damme all of Tennessee; and grandchildren, Sean Van Damme and Alex Van Damme.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol of 61 years; parents Louis and Margaret Van Damme; and sisters Mary Louise Ritter and Cora Jean Fisher.
