ROCK -- Ralph A. Johnson, age 75, of Rock, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at his home.
Ralph was born on November 22, 1950 in Ishpeming, the son of Tobias and Lydia (Lindberg) Johnson. Ralph grew up in Negaunee before later moving to Rock. He graduated from Rock High School and continued his education at Bay de Noc Community College earning an Associates Degree in tool and die machining. He was a member of the International Operating Engineers Union Local 324 for 25 years. Ralph loved being outdoors, whether it was logging, hunting, or farming. He also enjoyed taking a sauna. In his earlier years he was involved with Boy Scouts as a Cub Master, and was involved in little league baseball. He will be deeply missed by his family and so many others.
Ralph is survived by his children John (Brandy) Johnson, Jennifer (Anthony) Dooley, and Hiedi (Michael) Fromm; grandchildren John Jr. (Liz) Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Lynn (Brandon) Siner, Hannah "Alex" Dooley, Logan Dooley, Elizabeth (Lane) Petitt, Victoria (Tyler) Amant, Kathryn (Kaidan) Clark, and Isabella Fromm; great-grandchildren Izabella Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Shiloh Siner, Aaron Siner, Henry Siner, Piper Petitt, and Kolstan Clark; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Wally, Bill, Bruce, Bob, and David Johnson; and sisters Dorothy Bonnell, Carol Flaminio, and Rosie King.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Faith Lutheran Church in Rock. Funeral services honoring Ralph will begin at Noon with Pastor Sarah Sleeter officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Ralph will be laid to rest in the Negaunee Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Johnson family.
