RAPID RIVER -- Cathy S. Sauve, age 65, of Rapid River, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone.
Cathy was born on February 10, 1961 in Escanaba, the daughter of Robert and Beatrice (Carlson) Judson. She attended and graduated from Escanaba Area Schools Class of 1979.
Cathy was united in marriage to Mark Sauve on August 20, 1994 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Together they enjoyed spending winters in Surprise, Arizona. Cathy would search for donkeys while riding her motorcycle. They also belonged to The Flying Wheels Motorcycle Club. Cathy and Mark enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Round Lake where Cathy could putz around on her pontoon.
Cathy also immensely loved cats. She had several that were near and dear to her over her lifetime.
Cathy spent 39 years employed at the Paper Mill retiring at the end of May in 2021, alongside her husband.

Nieces and Nephews: Stephanie (Jason) Larsen, Heather Olsen, Richard (Shelly) Kuehl, Casey Kuehl, Jessica (Adnan) Syed and Blair (Haleigh) Sauve
Great Nieces and Nephews: Cayley and Autumn Larsen, Rylee Kuehl, Dylan and Brendyn Kuehl and Ilyana and Aydin Syed
And of course her fur babies: Fred the cat and dogs, Charlotte, Vinny and Bella
Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Lily Brondyke officiating at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Cathy will be laid to rest in Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Sauve family.
