ESCANABA -- Stanley Allan “Spike” Constantino, Jr., 39, of Escanaba, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Spike was born on February 14, 1987, to Stanley Allan Constantino, Sr. and Sally (Johnson) Constantino. He was more than just his father’s namesake in appearance and spirit; he carried his father’s grit, determination, and fearlessness, while forever remaining his mother’s golden boy. From an early age, he embraced adventure and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. His mischievous grin and the twinkle in his eye will never be forgotten.
Spike graduated from Rapid River High School in 2005. He had a talent for football but only played for a short time as he had other passions to pursue. He attributed his speed and agility to being the "little guy" and having to outrun and outwit his opponents.
For more than 15 years, Spike dedicated his career to Brian’s Auto Glass, where he was known as a dependable, hardworking employee and a trusted friend to coworkers and customers alike. He took pride in his work, never came across a problem he couldn't solve, and earned the respect of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Anyone who knew Spike knew his passion for anything with two wheels. He loved the freedom of riding his Harley on the open road, the adrenaline of the dirt bike track, and any opportunity to hit the road with family and friends. Every ride was another adventure waiting to happen. When he wasn’t riding, you could count on him cheering for his beloved San Francisco 49ers, faithfully supporting his team through every season.
While Spike embraced life’s adventures, nothing meant more to him than his family. His greatest joy was being a father to his children, Marli and Myles. They were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His love, encouragement, and playful spirit will remain with them always.
By his side through life’s journey was Kristina Schmidt, the love of his life. Together they built a beautiful family, created countless memories, and found joy in both everyday moments and life’s greatest adventures. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him.
Spike is survived by his beloved children, Marli and Myles; the love of his life, Kristina Schmidt; his father, Stanley Allan Constantino, Sr.; his sisters, Becki (Jack) Smith and Aimee (Lee) Carignan; "brother" Jason Shope; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives were touched by his adventurous spirit and loyal friendship.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally (Johnson) Constantino; his grandparents, Eli and Clara Constantino and George and Lillie Johnson; Kristina’s father, Manfred Schmidt; and his beloved nephew, Wyatt Smith.
Though his life was far too short, Spike’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the friendships he built, the adventures he shared, and the family he cherished above all else. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
