Megan Mae Wos
ESCANABA — Megan Mae Wos, age 39, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.
Megan was born in Escanaba to Richard Paul and Cathy (McGeary) Wos. She graduated from Escanaba High School with the Class of 2004 before attending Bay de Noc Community College and later transferring to Northern Michigan University.
Following her education, Megan followed her lifelong passion for horses. She traveled to New York, where she was a working student at Liberty Farms, caring for and training horses. She traveled to Texas to continue her work in horse breeding before returning home to Escanaba. Her love for animals ultimately led her to a fulfilling career as a veterinary technician at Country Vet Clinic, where her compassion and gentle touch earned the trust of both clients and their beloved pets.
On March 22, 2025, Megan married the love of her life, James Christensen. Together they shared a deep love for animals. Megan especially treasured her faithful dog, Rascal, who was never far from her side. Whether caring for dogs, horses, chickens, or any animal in need, Megan’s gentle spirit and generous heart shined through.
Megan is lovingly survived by her husband, James Christensen; her son, Bradyn Christensen; her parents, Richard Paul and Cathy Wos; her brother, Richard Joseph (Tara Oberg) Wos of Appleton, Wisconsin; her sister, Whitney (Kevin) Pratt of Gladstone; her cherished nieces, Alaina Pratt, Murphie Oberg, Jovie Dupont; and her cherished nephew, Gavin Pratt. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, coworkers, and countless animals whose lives were better because of her care.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Wos Farm located at 5510 I Road, Escanaba, MI 49829. At 5:30 pm Thursday a celebrating of Megan’s life will be held at the farm with a meal to follow.
Megan will be remembered for her strength, kindness, adventurous spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to both people and animals. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
