Mary Elsie (Blowers) Brannstrom
GLADSTONE — Mary Elsie (Blowers) Brannstrom, age 89, of Gladstone, MI, formerly of Rapid River, MI, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Escanaba, MI.
Mary was born on October 26, 1936, in Manistique, MI, to Fredrick and Elsie (Sebeck) Blowers. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1955 and married Roger Hugo Brannstrom on December 6, 1958, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and raised their family in Rapid River.
Mary was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church, participating in many activities, including dart ball. She also enjoyed bingo, bird watching, visiting with friends, and spending time with her family. Nothing was more important to Mary than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Kassy) Brannstrom of Tarpon Springs, FL, Keith (Cindy) Brannstrom of Rapid River, and Kenny (Kathy) Brannstrom of Portage, MI; grandchildren, Austin and Sydney Brannstrom, Corey (Cabell) Wendrick, Casey (Kendell) Wendrick, Kaitlyn, James and Erin Brannstrom; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; and great-granddaughter Cora Wendrick.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Brannstrom will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Thorsen officiating. Burial will take place in the Rapid River Cemetery.
